Our Journey – Where We Started

THE THREE WORDS was founded with a simple yet heartfelt mission: to create high-quality, handcrafted cakes and fresh floral arrangements that bring people closer together. We started as a small team of passionate bakers and florists who believed that every celebration, big or small, deserves something extraordinary.

Unlike many cake or flower businesses that outsource their production, we built our own team of in-house pastry chefs and florists, ensuring uncompromised quality, creativity, and freshness in every order.

From birthdays and weddings to moments of comfort and appreciation, we've had the privilege of being part of thousands of special occasions. And that’s what drives us—to make your most important moments truly unforgettable.

ALLERGENS AND DIETARY REQUIREMENTS

Do your cakes contain common allergens?

All of our items are prepared in the same kitchen, so we are unable to guarantee that our products will be free from all potential allergens (nuts, eggs, dairy and gluten).

We have GF (GLUTEN FRIENDLY) cakes available. Our 'Gluten Friendly' menu is technically gluten-free but we cannot guarantee that our products have not come into contact with gluten.

This is an extremely important message for those with celiac or serious food allergens. 

Please feel free to call us first if there is anything you should avoid in our cakes, cupcakes and macarons. 

OPENING HOURS

What are your opening and closing hours?

MON - FRI 7:30AM - 4:30PM
SAT - SUN 8:30AM - 4:30PM
 

Click-&-Collect is available from 7:00am until 6:00pm Mon - Sat. Click-&-Collect gives you the special convenience of picking up your pre-ordered items outside our regular trading hours.

Personal Delivery is available from 8:00am until 10:30pm 7 days! Our Off-Peak Personal Delivery offers an affordable same-day delivery option, giving you great value without compromising on convenience.

ORDER PROCESS AND CUSTOMIZATION

How far in advance do I need to place an order?

You can place an order for any future date! However, for the best selection and access to all options and discounts, check out our 'IN 2+ DAYS' pages. For Next-Day and Same-Day orders, we offer a limited selection and fewer dicounts.

For large or custom orders, we recommend booking at least one week in advance - the earlier the better! During peak seasons like Chritmas, New Year's, Valentine's Day, and Mother's Day, or busier-than-usual weekends, we suggest to contact us even earlier to secure availability. What if I need a last-minute order or a rush service?

We’ll do our best to accommodate last-minute orders. Please call us directly for rush orders to confirm availability.

DELIVERIES

Who handles deliveries?

At THE THREE WORDS, we believe in going the extra mile to ensure your experience is as smooth and special as possible.

Thats why we offer hand deliveries directly to your door, our team handles each delivery with the utmost care, ensuring that your products arrive safely and on time, just the way you expect them.

By choosing to deliver by hand, we’re able to offer a personal touch that ensures your items are treated with respect and attention from start to finish.

We understand the value of reliability, and we take pride in knowing that every order is delivered thoughtfully and efficiently, with a focus on customer satisfaction.

What are the delivery fees and areas covered?

Delivery fees vary based on location and are calculated at checkout. We cover a wide delivery area check our Delivery page for specific regions.

What happens if the recipient isn't available at delivery?

If no one is available to receive the order, our driver will follow the delivery instructions provided (e.g., leaving it in a safe spot) or attempt to contact you.

REFUNDS/CANCELLATIONS

Can I cancel my order and receive a full refund?

We have a 48-hour refund policy, which means you have 2 days after receiving your item to request a change, cancellation-and-credit or cancellation-and-refund.

Refunds
We have a 48-hour refund policy, which means your order can be cancelled and refunded only when your written request was sent to hello@thethreewords.co.nz (or reply to your Order Confirmation Email) with your name, contact details and the Order Number, by 4:00pm in 48 hours prior to your pick-up and/or delivery date, or earlier. Please feel free to contact us first on 09 307 1333, or 022 3969 786, or DMs @thethreewordsnz, to hear more about refund/cancellation/changes.

Once the refund is actioned from our end, please give your bank and the credit card companies 24 to 48 working hours to complete the reverse payment into your account.

TRANSPORTATION AND STORING

How should I transport and store my cake?

For the best preservation of your cake, please follow these guidelines:

  • Transportation: During transport, ensure the cake is placed on the floor of your vehicle, as this provides the most stable and level surface. Keep the cake out of direct sunlight and away from any sources of heat to prevent any damage to the cake’s structure or decoration.

  • Storage: Once you’ve arrived at your destination, store the cake in the fridge or a cool area to maintain its freshness. Avoid leaving it in a warm environment, as this can affect its quality.

  • Before serving: To ensure the cake is at its best texture and flavor, we recommend removing it from the fridge 2–3 hours before serving. This allows it to come to room temperature, ensuring the cake is soft and delicious.

Are the cakes fresh?

Yes! Our cakes are baked fresh daily by our in-house pastry chefs using high-quality ingredients to ensure the best taste and texture.

How long do your cakes stay fresh?

Our cakes are best enjoyed on the day of pickup or delivery but can stay fresh for up to 3 days when stored properly in an airtight container in the refrigerator.

What makes your cakes different from others?

We use Italian buttercream, which has a smooth, velvety texture and contains 30% less sugar than most cakes on the market. This means you get a light, balanced sweetness without compromising on flavor.

Our in-house florists pour their artistry and heart into every arrangement, ensuring that each bouquet is fresh, full of life, and perfectly suited for the occasion it celebrates. We source only the finest flowers, prioritizing freshness, longevity, and elegance so that your gift lasts as long as possible, filling homes with fragrance and warmth.

In addition to our floral arrangements, we also adorn our cakes with stunning flowers, please note, these flowers are for decorative purposes only and are not edible.

Flower quality and freshness

Our flowers are freshly sourced and arranged in-house by our professional florists on the day of your order, ensuring maximum freshness and beauty.

We prioritize fresh, premium-quality flowers from trusted local and international growers, ensuring beautiful, long-lasting arrangements.

 

How long will the flowers last?

With proper care, our fresh flowers can last 5-7 days. To extend their lifespan, keep them in fresh water, trim the stems every couple of days, and avoid direct sunlight or heat.

Can I customize my flower arrangement?

Absolutely! Whether you have specific colors or flowers in mind, our in-house florists can create a personalized arrangement just for you.

Do your flowers contain anything that could be harmful to pets?

Some flowers can be toxic to pets. If you're sending flowers to a household with pets, let us know and we can guide you on the best pet-safe options.

CUPCAKES

Are your cupcakes available in gluten-free

Yes, we offer gluten-free cupcakes. However, they are made in the same kitchen as other baked goods, so cross-contamination may occur.

How long do cupcakes stay fresh?

Our cupcakes are best enjoyed on the day of pickup or delivery but can stay fresh for up to two days if stored in an airtight container at room temperature. Refrigeration may dry them out, so we recommend keeping them in a cool, dry place.

MACARONS

Do your macarons contain nuts?

Yes, our macarons are made with almond flour and may contain traces of other nuts due to shared equipment. If you have a nut allergy, please contact us before ordering.

Are your macarons gluten-free?

Yes! Our macarons are naturally gluten-free since they are made with almond flour. However, they are prepared in a kitchen that handles gluten, so cross-contact may occur.

How long do macarons stay fresh?

Our macarons stay fresh for up to five days when stored in an airtight container in the fridge. For the best experience, let them sit at room temperature for about 10 minutes before enjoying.
